
Pokhara Sports/ Kenyan sprinter Stephen Kosgei has won the 16th Pokhara International Marathon Open organized by the Nepal Ex-sportsmen forum-2001.
Starting from Pokhara Stadium, he completed the distance of 42.195 km in two hours 19 minutes and 43 seconds and became the first. He received a medal with four lakh rupees in cash. He also managed to keep the best record timing in Pokhara Marathon.
Similarly Simeon Kiplagato stood second in the competition. He completed the distance in two hours 21 minutes and three seconds and won a medal with Rs. 200,000 in cash. Meanwhile Mohandev Joshi of Nepal Army completed the distance in 2 hours 33 minutes and 24 seconds and finished third in the competition and received Rs. 100,000 in cash.
Rajpura Prasai of Nepal Police has become the first in the women’s half marathon of the competition. She completed the 21-kilometer race in one hour, 21 minutes and 26 seconds and won a cash prize of Rs one lakh. RSS
