
Pokhara Sports/Keshav Pathak – South Korea’s Yul Ho Jung and Sri Lanka’s Ganuka Fernando have advanced to the boys’ singles final of the ITF World Tennis Tour Juniors J30 Pokhara, while Nepal’s Shivali Gurung and Chinese Taipei’s Ke-Chieh HSU confirmed their places in the girls’ singles final on Friday.

Top seed of Chinese Taipei Ting-Ho Yang was knocked out in a gripping semifinal after Jung staged a strong comeback to win 3–6, 6–3, 7–6(1). In the other semifinal, Ganuka Fernando defeated Nepal’s Pranab Manandhar 6–4, 6–2.
In the girls’ category, YUL HO JUNG dominated India’s Ananya Jain 6–2, 6–0, while Nepal’s Shivali Gurung upset India’s second seed Kartika Padmakumar 6–2, 3–6, 6–1 to reach the final.
The boys’ doubles title was claimed by Korea’s Hyojin Ha and Yul Ho Jung, who defeated India’s Fazal Ali Meer and Hong Kong’s Selwyn Yuen Wong 3–6, 6–3, 10–8. In girls’ doubles, Shivali Gurung and KE-CHIEH HSU secured the title with a 6–2, 6–2 win over India’s Soumya Chatterjee and Ranjana Sangram.
Organized by the Kaski District Tennis Association, the J30 tournament features 80 players from 16 countries and is part of a two-week ITF Circuit event 1&2 in Pokhara. The singles finals will be played on Saturday.
The ITF World Tennis Tour J-30 Circuit 1 and 2 is being held continuously for two weeks starting from December 1, with the participation of 80 players from 16 countries, Players from Nepal, India, China, the USA, New Zealand, Taiwan, Bangladesh, Canada, Australia, Korea, the UK, Singapore, Malaysia, Sri Lanka, Israel, and Hong Kong are participating in the tournament.
The organizers have informed that approximately NPR 1.787 million (17 lakh 87 thousand) will be spent to complete the tournament. Kaski Tennis Secretary Bhishma Raj Paudel stated that the tournament is being organized with the support of the Provincial Sports Council Gandaki, District Sports Development Committee Kaski, Pokhara Metropolitan City, and Nepal Tourism Board Gandaki Province.
