Pokhara Sports / President of Nepal Olympic Committee (NOC)Mr. Jeevan Ram Shrestha Welcome Mr. Nigel Short, FIDE Director for Chess Development along with Mr. Bidur Gautam, President of Nepal Chess Association (NCA) in the NOC office today.
On the occasion, the President of NOC Mr. Shrestha speaks about the Olympic movement and how the NCA has executed a remarkable journey by organizing National and International events which have encouraged the Chess players of Nepal to upgrade their ranking.
Mr. Short is an English chess grandmaster, columnist, coach, and commentator. Mr. Short had earned the title of grandmaster at the age of 19 and was ranked third in the world by FIDE and he became the first English player to play a World Chess Championship match.
In the program Secretary General of NOC Mr. Nilendra Raj Shrestha, Senior Vice President of NCA Mr.Harikaji Maharjan, Secretary General of NCA Mr.Dharam Lama were present.
