
Pokhara Sports / In a remarkable demonstration of international collaboration, the Qatar Equestrian Federation (QEF) and Nepal Equestrian Association (AEF) has an unprecedented opportunity to Nepali equestrian athletes to undergo intensive training at the prestigious International Training Facility in Doha, Qatar.

Commencing with the first phase in February, Five talented athletes will embark on a transformative journey, receiving comprehensive support including expert guidance, access to top-quality horses, accommodation, internal transportation, participation in national and international competitions, all aimed at enhancing their proficiency and exposure in the field as stated by Mr. Rabi Rajkarnikar, President of Nepal Equestrian Association
The second phase will see an additional five athletes undergoing similar training in April, further solidifying the foundation of equestrian excellence in Nepal.
Mr. Rajkarnikar, expressed his deep gratitude to the Qatar Olympic Committee, and in particularly to Mr. Bader Mohammad Al Darwish, President of Qatar Equestrian Association, and Sheikh Ahmad, Secretary General, for their unwavering support and collaboration in facilitating this remarkable opportunity.
Mr. Rajkarnikar also acknowledged the invaluable cooperation received from the Nepal Army, Shree Nepal Cavalry, National Sports Council, and the Nepal Olympic Committee, emphasizing the transformative potential of such partnerships in advancing technical prowess and nurturing talent for future endeavors such as the Asian Games in 2026, 2030 in Qatar and 2034 in Saudi Arabia.
The selected Equestrian Athletes, including representatives from the Nepal Army and Wind Horse Stable, embody the dedication and promise of Nepal’s equestrian community namely: Govinda Bahadur Khadka, Jagadish Ghising, Ram Krishna Adhikari, Ramhari Khadka, and Niroj KC.
His Excellency Mr. Mishal M Al Ansari, the Ambassador of The State of Qatar, conveyed his best wishes to the athletes during a heartfelt farewell function held at the Embassy of the State of Qatar in Kathmandu. He affirmed that such bilateral endeavors not only strengthen the bond between Qatar and Nepal but also foster greater camaraderie among their citizens.
Similarly, Mr. Jeevan Ram Shrestha, President of Nepal Olympic Committee, joined by esteemed dignitaries, bid farewell to the equestrian athletes during a special ceremony, applauding the Nepal Equestrian Federation’s commitment to nurturing solidarity and collaborative partnerships within the Olympic Movement. This collaboration symbolizes the power of sports to transcend boundaries and unite nations in pursuit of excellence, setting a remarkable precedent for future endeavors in global sports diplomacy.
