Pokhara / ITF World Tennis Tour: Saloni and Sharvani in the final (Photo Feature)

Pokhara Sports/ Nepalese players Saloni Tamang and Sharvani Shrestha will meet in the final of Girls Singles undergoing ITF World Tennis Tour J-5 Circuit-2 here at Pokhara Stadium Tennis Complex.

Semi-final held on Friday, Saloni defeated Riya Dugar of India 6-3, 6-2 in straight sets to reach the final under the competition. She is the title winner of Circuit-1 that was held in Pokhara last week.

In the girls’ semi-final, Sharvani reached the final when Abhilasha got retired hurt in the match. After stepping out from the semi-final Abhilasha told Pokhara Sports: “I’ve been in the game for last five weeks in a row, but because of my injury, I’ll rest for a month.” “This will be the last competition for the junior side for me, from now onwards I will move to women’s senior side,” She said.

Similarly, in the boys’, singles semifinals, third seed Siddhartha Lama of the US lost to eighth seed Emilio Zielkowski of Sweden 6-2, 6-4 in straight sets. Emilio is set to meet Hungary’s fifth seed Lorant Gyori in the final. Hungary’s Lorant edged out Meethre Barrot of the US 6-3, 6-3 in straight sets in the match.

India won the title in Girls Doubles
Indian duo Niyati Kukreti and Hannah Nagpal won the title of Girls Doubles. In the final, the duo defeated their compatriot Riya Dugar and Tanushree Pandey 6-1, 6-2 in straight sets.

US & India in boys’ doubles Final
The US and Indian pair will meet in the boys’ doubles. In today’s semi-final, the US pair of Siddhartha Lama and Meethre Barrot defeated the pair of Amir Zielkowski of Russia and Lorant Gyori of Hungary 6-2, 6-3 in straight sets. The winner of the semi-final will face the Indian pair of Kabir Chhabariya and Daksh Prasad in the final. Indian duo Kabir & Daksha defeated their compatriots Chandan Shivraj and Krish Tyagi 6-3, 3-6, and (10-6) in the super tie match.
