
Keshav Pathak/Pokhara Sports/ Nepali players Aryan Giri, Abhilasha Bista, and Sharvani Shrestha have won their match on the ongoing ITF World Ranking U-18 Tennis Tour J-5 Circuit-2 in Pokhara on Tuesday.
In the competition organized by Kaski District Tennis Association, Nepal’s top seed Abhilasha defeated Khusi Gulati of India 6-1, 6-1 in straight sets. Similarly, Nepali player Sharvani defeated Sree Nidhi Reddy in her struggling match.
After losing the first set 6-7 (4), Nepal’s fourth seed Sharvani returned to the game 6-2, 6-1 in the second and final set. Similarly, Aryan Giri defeated Pranav Korade of India 7-5, 6-4 in a straight-set.
On the girls’ side, Nepal’s Prakriti Shrestha got defeated by India’s Vanshikha Maria 6-1, 6-0 while Nepal’s Aja Regmi lost to India’s Shukhamani Bhandari 6-1, 6-1 in straight sets. Similarly, Nepal’s Isha Shree Shah lost to India’s Thania Saral in a competitive match. In the game, Isha lost the first set 6-1 but again managed to win the second set by 1-6 but lost the third set by 6-2. Another Nepali player Jenny Khadka lost to Riya Dugar of India 6-0, 6-0 in straight sets.
Even in the boys’ singles, Nepali players could not achieve much success. Nepal’s Nihal Jung Bahadur Thapa lost to USA’s Jay Dutt 6-1, 6-1 in straight sets. Aki Zuben Rawat of Nepal lost to Indian player Omans Chaudhary 6-1, 6-4. Similarly, Brazil’s Vreno Roseto defeated India’s Vatsal Manikantan 6-3, 6-1. In boys’ Singles, Halel Ashoosh of Israel and Amir of Russia have won their respective games. Amir defeated Raj Bahadur Pradhan of Nepal and Halel defeated Bikram Shah of Nepal.
In the girls’ doubles, Nepali duo Abhilasha and Saloni Tamang defeated Indian duo Shukhamani and Sohini 2-6, 6-3, 10-7. However, Isha Shree and Sharvani of the Nepali side have won their games, while Prakriti Shrestha and Sunira Thapa’s pair and Nimisha Dhakal and Aisha Dolkar Gurung’s pair have also won in doubles. Another Indian pair of Riya Dugar and Tanu Shree Pandey defeated Nepali pair Aja Regmi and Subhangi Laxmi. Similarly, Nepali Pair Prasamsa Moktan and Adya Paudel, Pair of Shreya Bhattarai (Nepal) and Milee Chug (India), Indian Pair Diva Bhatia and Meher Mishra Lost their match. While Indian Pair of Niyati Kukreti and Vanshikha Maria Vaiz, Pair of Shanoon Bovy (Belgium) and Saumrita Jagatdeo Verma win their Match.
In the boys’ doubles, the Nepali pair of Arav Samrat Hada and Aki Zuben Rawat emerged victorious while the Nepali pair of Nihal Jung and Nishan Shrestha lost in straight sets to the Indian pair of Vibhu and Aarnab.
