
Pokhara/ A Zoom meeting on anti-doping rules for the Federation was held today at Nepal Olympic Committee (NOC).
Secretary General of NOC Mr. Nilendra Raj Shrestha welcomed all the participants. President of NOC Honorable Jeevan Ram Shrestha elaborated the importance of anti-doping.
The Chairman of Medical Commission of NOC Dr. Saroj Krishna Shrestha explained to all the presidents and secretary generals of 27 federations about the new rules of anti-doping.
In the 2021 World Anti-Doping Code Article No.18, every National Federation should have their own anti-doping Rules. Dr. Saroj has informed all the federations that they should submit their respective anti-doping rules to NADO of Nepal by August 15, 2020.
According to World Anti-Doping Code for the countries without NADO, their NOC will act as NADO. So, the new anti doping rules should be submitted to NOC by August 15, 2020.
President of NOC Honorable Jeevan Ram Shrestha expressed that we have to take this positively and seriously and be careful about what our athletes are taking especially prohibited substances. Secretary General of NOC Mr. Nilendra Raj Shrestha added that if any help is required in making of the new anti-doping rules, Nepal Olympic Committee, Medical commission and NOC Staff will provide all the support that may be required during the process.
In the meeting Dr. Nabees Man Singh Pradhan and representative of NSC Mr. Arjun BK were also present.
