March 3/Pokhara, Federation of Hockey India has supported hockey sticks to the Nepal Hockey Association (NHA).

As stated by the Vice President of Nepal Hockey Association, Hockey India has provided 300 hockey sticks for the development and enhancement of hockey in Nepal.

‘India itself is the motherland of hockey’ as said by the NHA Vice President Khadka ‘We are very thankful to Hockey India for this memorable gift.’ He also added, ‘these hockey sticks will be distributed to the students of various schools for the production of potential hockey players’.

In a ceremony functioned by Nepal Hockey Association, President Umesh Lal Shrestha, Senior VP Anil Sharma, NSC Technical Chief Arjun BK and VP Khadka jointly distributed the hockey sticks to the players.

Like wise, last year Hockey for Hero from UK team had also distributed hockey sticks in Jomsom.

Even though new players have shown interest in playing hockey in the recent days, Nepal has still been facing difficulties in hockey development due to lack of AstroTurf hockey fields in the country.
