Gandaki Boarding School Girls team and Pokhara Academy Boys team clinch the title of 4th Himalaya handball cup 2019, final Match played here in Pokhara on the occasion of Nepali women’s festive ‘Teej’ organized by Himalaya Club Batulechaur.
In the final match Gandaki girls’ team defeated Mount Annapurna Secondary School to lift the title. Similarly, Pokhara Academy boys’ team defeats Gaynjyoti Bidhyakunj to clinch the Himalayan Handball Cup title.
Both winner team received cash prize amount 20 thousands rupees each and first runner-up received 15 thousands each with trophy, medals and certificates.
Likewise, girls’ team’s two semifinalists Social Pubic School and Saraswoti Bidhyashram were in third position and boys’ teams two semifinalists Kaski Modernized and Gandaki Boarding held the third position. Semifinalists’ teams received cash prize amount rupees 3 thousand each with trophies, medals and certificates respectively.
In boys’ category Pawan Chantyal of Pokhara Academy declared as the best player of the tournament. Sabin Gurung of Pokhara Academy received the best goalkeeper title and Sanjay Pujara of Gyanjyoti grasped the title of Highest Scorer. They received cash prize of 1 thousand each with trophies.
Similarly, in girls’ category, Syami Gurung of Mount Annapurna Secondary School (MASS) received the best player title, Nilam Gurung of Saraswoti Bidhyashram Highest Scorer and Salini Yadav of Gandaki Boarding received Best Goalkeeper title in the tournament. A total of 35 teams participated (14 girls and 21 Boys) in the tournament.
